pizza dough

You first start off by combining 1 cup of warm water with one packet of dry-active yeast. Let it steep for 5 minutes until it starts to look bubbly.

This recipe for delicious pizza dough came from one of my favorite food blogs Bread and Honey
Then you combine your dry ingredients which are 3 cups of flour (I have done it with all-purpose flour and whole wheat and its delicious both ways), 1 1/2 tbs of sugar, 1 tsp of salt.
Then you mix together yeast water and the dry ingredients with 2 tbs of olive oil and you will get a blob of dough that looks something like the picture to the left.

Then you must top it with a tea towel or kitchen hand towel and let it rise for 1 hour. Then punch the dough down and knead for about 2 minutes. Then put the towel on top and let rise one more hour, but longer is okay as well. Once it has risen it is ready for use that night or it is great to freeze and use at a later date. I usually make 3-4 batches of this at a time and then I can pull it out of the freezer the night before I need it. I have used it to make pizza, calzones and garlic breadsticks.....and they are all delicious !!

Enjoy !!!
