alton brown's tasty almonds...

I saw this recipe for Alton Brown's spiced almonds on a recent episode when he was explaining how much weight he has lost in recent months. I thought this may be an easy way to have a quick snack that would cut out hunger while at work and boy was I right. They are so flavorful, easy to make, and if proportioned out right they can be the ideal snack.

You start with putting 1 tbs of ginger and 1 tsp of salt shake it up in a separate bowl together and set aside.

Then heat 2 tbs of sesame oil and 1 tbs of olive oil in a fry pan. Add in 1 tsp of red pepper flakes. Let the oil get nice and warm so the flavors of the red pepper flakes incorporates into the oil.

Then add your Nutzzzzz !!! Stir them around until they are coated all over and start to get a brown toasty appearance.

Then add 1 tbs of soy sauce and 1 tbs of Worcestershire sauce and mix through.

Then add them back into the ginger bowl you set aside earlier. Shake them until you cant shake them any further. Get them nice and coated with the ginger/salt mixture.

Then spread them flat on a baking sheet that is covered with parchment paper. Bake them in an oven 250 degree oven for 20 minutes. Let them cool for 30 minutes before packaging up. By baking them in the oven for 20 minutes it allows them to not be sticky when you want to enjoy them later on.

Package them up in individual pouches that way you can control portions throughout the week. It should be just about a 1/4 cup of them or about a small handful.

Enjoy !!!
