mmm mmm mmm lasagna

Adapted from: Framed

In search for the most perfect lasagna I came across the perfect recipe. I have been looking around for quite sometime so that I could have the perfect recipe and make two lasagnas at once and freeze and that's exactly what I did. This is a slightly traditional recipe I feel, but oh boy is it full of flavor and stuffed to the brim with the right ingredients.

Start by cooking 1 lb of Italian chicken sausage, 1 chopped onion, 3 minced cloves of garlic and a handful of fresh parsley in a frypan.

Then add 3 cans of tomato paste and 2 cups of water. I used 2 different kinds of tomato paste, which is the only reason why the picture looks a little funny below.

Stir that around for a bit. Add in 1 1/2 tsp of Italian seasoning, 1 1/2 tsp of basil and 1 1/2 tsp of oregano.

Then mix up the ricotta by adding 15 ounces of ricotta, 10 ounces of spinach, 1/2 cup of Parmesan, 2 tsp of garlic salt and 1/4 tsp of pepper.

Mix that together and don't forget the eggs like I did. Add in three eggs and mix through.

Then get your station ready. Your sauce mixture, noodles, cheese and ricotta mixture.

Add some sauce to the bottom of your baking pan, add some no-cook noodles (although next time I am going to use real noodles), and then add some of the ricotta mixture.

Complete that process adding in mozzarella in between as well until you have your completed lasagna.

Bake at 350 for 25-35 minutes with foil on top.

Cut a delicious piece out of it and get to it !!
