ray's tartar sauce

This recipe for tartar sauce came from an awesome Restaurant in Northampton, Mass called Paul and Elizabeth's. While in town for a Frightened Rabbit show we had dinner there before heading over to the show at the Iron Horse. The meal at Paul and Elizabeth's is up there on my top meals for sure. My husband was especially fond of the tartar sauce that came with his fish and chips, which were equally delicious.

He took at stab at it and figured it couldnt hurt to ask what was in it. He was looking for the complete recipe, but obviously they were not going to give that to him. So they gave him the 8 or so ingredients on a check receipt.

The 8 perfectly simple ingredients are
1. mayonnaise
2. dill
3. cayene pepper
4. minced onion
5. minced pickles (my husband swears by using homemade dill pickles we picked up from a farm stand are the best)
6. juice of half a lemon
7. a little salt
8. just a few drops out of the brine out of the pickle jar

Enjoy !!
